Profile of Kevin Lee: BA (Hons), Pg Dip, MBA, ACMA


Kevin Lee is the founder and Director of Business Skills Training. He is a professional trainer and facilitator specialising in business and financial skills.

Kevin has a track record of improving organisational performance. He develops the skills of managers and staff and enables them to align policies, processes and plans with organisational goals and expectations.

Clients include the Ministry of Justice, Department of Internal Affairs, Auckland City Council, ANZ National Bank, Heinz Watties and Meridian Energy. Prior to setting up Business Skills Training, Kevin held senior finance positions in New Zealand and the UK.

Kevin's approach is highly practical, identifying the most beneficial management tools for an organisation's circumstances and then building skills and knowledge through case studies, examples and small group work. Kevin's workshops draw on a wealth of management experience including:

  • Improving business performance through a clear focus on strategy, business drivers and outcomes
  • Improving team performance through strong teamwork, effective communication and by developing team culture and values
  • Enhancing budgeting and financial management frameworks to improve accountability, transparency and value for money
  • Developing big dollar business cases and managing major Capex projects

Kevin's qualifications include an MBA with a major in Finance, a post graduate diploma in Business Administration with distinction and an Honours degree in Business Studies. Kevin is professionally qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and accredited as a Belbin Team Role Facilitator. He is a member of the New Zealand Association for Training and Development and the Human Resources Institute for New Zealand.
